Desert and High Atlas 10 Days Tour
Tour Information
Day 1
Airport pick-up and hotel transfer. Diner and overnight at hotel Imilchil,
hotel Acabar or in a Riad.
day 2
Marrakech - Telouet - Ait Ben Haddou
Morning departure towards High Atlas Tizi n'tichka Pass at 2260m, passing
Kasbah du Glaoui in Telouet and crossing the old caravan route in Ounila
Valley before arriving at Ait Ben Haddou, a ancient fortified Kasbah under
UNESCO World Heritage protection. Diner and overnight at hotel Etoile
Filante in Ait Ben Haddou.
Day 3
Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Skoura - Boutaghrar
Morning departure to Ouarzazate to take the 1000 Kasbahs route reaching the
Palm plantation of Skoura. From here we enter the Amgoune Mountain by
traditional Berber village off-road tracks. Light meal at Imi n'Woulawn, the
wonder of D'aynasseur Valley. We continue our journey towards Boutaghrar,
and after a glass of mint tea, we make a hour hike in the Rose Valley
fields. Diner and overnight in a Kasbah Abdou in Boutaghrar. - Ouarzazate
Day 4
Boutaghrar - M'Semrir Dades Gorges - Tamtettoucht
Morning departure by off-road tracks until Ait Youl Kasbah. Continuing the
jorney towards Dades Gorges by the valley and again arrive in M'Semrir where
we have lunch. After midday we take the off-road tracks towards Tamtettoucht
and pass nomad people that live in the rocky mountains. Diner and overnight
in a Kasbah in Tamtettoucht.
Day 5
Tamtettoucht - ait Hani - Gorges Amllago - Goulmima - Errachidia - Ziz
Valley
Morning departure by the Amllago Canyons crossing several Berber villages.
Arrival in Goulmima by the small village of Tadighouste and the valley of
Taltfraoute. Snack inside the valley. After midday we take the road towards
Errachidia, visiting Source Bleu de Meski and Ziz Valley. diner and
overnight in a Kasbah in Ziz Valley.
Day 6
Ziz Valley - Erfoud - Merzouga
After breakfast we go hiking in the Ziz Oasis and lunch inside the palm
fields of the Ziz Valley. After midday we leave on the road use by
Paris-Dakar race that takes us to the fossil beds of Sahara and the dunes of
Erg Chebbi, Merzouga Dunes. We pass some nomad that live in tents. Arrival
at the point of vehicle exchange. You swicth our 4x4 to a nice camel. Camel
ride in the dunes to enjoy Sun set. Diner and overnight in a hotel on the
dunes. Night Music activities.
Day 7
Merzouga - Tafilalet Palm Plantation - Erfoud - Touroug - Tinjdad - Todra
Gorges
Morning wake up to enjoy the sun rise in the dunes of Merzouga. After
breakfast in the hotel we leave to the palm plantation of Tafilaled passing
the Sahara town of Rissani, ancient capital for the Alaouite Sultans and the
most important market town for Sub-Sahara camel caravans. Visit to the big
Souk ( market ). After we go to the town of Erfoud often called by the Gate
of Sahara, we now go and visit a fossil workshop. Continuing our journey, we
pass the palm plantation of Touroug and also Tinjdad where we stop to have
lunch. Heading to Todra Gorges Cayons where we have diner and hotel.
Day 8
After brekafast and morning walk in the canyons, we go to enjoy the
scerarios of the palm plantation of Tinghir. Road to Boulmane, Kelat M'Gouna
and Skoura. Lunch in a local restaurant. after midday we head towards
Ouarzazate and visit a local Berber natural herb pharmany. Diner in "Jardins
de Ouarzazate" and overnight in hotel Saghro.
Day 9
After breakfast we go and visit Ouarzazate's Cinema Studios. Road to
Marrakesh passing the Tichka Pass in High Atlas. Lunch on the road. Arrival
at Marrakesh around 2pm. You are free to visit the city by yourself. Diner
and overnight at hotel Imilchil, hotel Acabar or in a Riad.
Day 10
Airport transfer.
